Downloading ViewNX-i
(This tutorial describes how to download ViewNX-i. Capture NX-D can be downloaded using the same procedure.)
Downloading ViewNX-i from the Nikon Website
1. Go to the Nikon website.
https://www.nikon.com/
2. Click Products & Solutions and select Imaging Products. On the “Imaging Products” page, click Lineup and select Software.
3. Click ViewNX-i ViewNX-Movie Editor in the software list.
4. Click ViewNX-i Download on the ViewNX-i product page.
5. Choose your region and language to display the ViewNX-i download page.
6. Check the number of the latest version and click the View download page link for your operating system (Mac or Windows).
7. Scroll down to the “Agreement” section, read the agreement, and click Accept.
8. Select your region from the list. A Download button will be displayed.
9. Click Download to start download.
10. When download is complete, a copy of the ViewNX-i installer will have been saved to the downloads folder on your computer. Launch the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
Downloading ViewNX-i from the Nikon Download Center
1. Go to the Nikon Download Center website.
https://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/
2. Select Software in the category list and click one of the following:
• To download both ViewNX-i and Capture NX-D, click ViewNX-i & Capture NX-D.
• To download ViewNX-i only, click ViewNX-i.
3. Download and install the selected software as described in Steps 6 to 10 of “Downloading ViewNX-i from the Nikon Website”.

Customised display: view thumbnails vertically or horizontally according to the orientation of the image you’re working on. Alter the size of thumbnails and display shooting information in the thumbnail list. Compare images side by side. Detailed shooting data: visible at any time. Choose between conventional shooting data or opt for a display based on the top panel of a Nikon D-SLR. Shooting data including ISO sensitivity, aperture, focal length and scene settings are displayed just as they were when you captured the image. Direct access to movies: create original films, trim and save movies in the ViewNX-i Movie Editor. Specify playback ranges, rate movie files, pull stills from your movies and rapidly combine and edit movie clips. Upload finished movies to the web. Movie creation and editing is simple and intuitive.
Movies with style: select a style for your movie from popular editing options: standard, fade-in/fade-out, wipe, random and stop motion. Create professional looking opening credits, closing credits and in-movie message boards. Alternatively, click the text icon to superimpose what you’ve written directly onto movie frames or stills.
Socially integrated: upload images straight to your social media accounts. Track ‘likes’ and comments directly from ViewNX-i. Set the filter image display to show only the files you’ve uploaded to a specific social networking service.
Geographic journey: display images with location information using the map module. Designate a location for images without geo-tags. Track your route in a sequence of images.
Sidecar files: enable protected manipulation, adjustment and tagging of images and movies. Your changes are attached in a separate file, leaving the original image intact. Compare your adjustments, save alternate versions and return to the original image whenever you like.
